What's Wrong with Pattyskypants???

Usually, I don't post about the stuff that is really important to me, other than Bhu and Sabryin. Life goes on; we need to be reminded of all the HAPS in our lives! But lately -- did you notice -- things seem out of whack!
8.9 earthquake in Japan spawns tsunamis that kill thousands
Geraldine Ferraro and Elizabeth Taylor die before reaching the age of 80
All HELL breaks loose in North Africa
Sweet Praline is diagnosed with cancer and has 6 months to live
I'm not going to tell Bhu because he will just be devastated. He feels like me: everything's out of whack!
First, I want to say that I have great admiration for Mom Paula! With this heartbreaking news she has great strength and rationality: she is going to try to make Sweet P's last months as comfortable as possible. I can't even imagine what difficult emotional pain she is feeling. We can only send her our love and encouragement during the time to come.
"Whatchu doin' mom?" Uh, nothin' Bhu. You go away into the kitchen and I will give you some more Appetizer. "OK, thanks!"
I'm gonna enjoy my kitteh every single minute of every single day. xxoo Patty

Debonaire!

"Mom, why U use this word to describe me?" Well, first it is an old French phrase that means of good lineage, and you are, of course, a full-bred Himalayan kitty with papers. "But what about mai purrsonality?" Yes, well, basically it means suave, urbane, elegant, sophisticated . . . you are courteous and gracious: a very charming gentlemancat! "Well, thank you mommy!" So, Bhu what one word would you use to describe me? "Plump." Hmmmmm.

Many thanks to Ann of Zoolatry for the glorious photo art! Happy Wordy Wednesday to all! xxoo Patty

Help Me Wanda, help help me Wanda . . .

Do I hear the Beachboys??? Hmmm. Well, here is the Amy Butler quilt top. I am having trouble deciding how to quilt this and I don't have a long-arm quilter so I asked Wanda over at "A Frayed of Fibers," one of the most talented quilt artists I know, how she would proceed. "Say hello to the kittehs fur I." No, Bhu. This is a time when you can say "Me" instead of "I". "How can me's tell the diffurence?" No, Bhu, now you would say How can "I" tell the difference. Not "Me". "U iz confusin' I!" Ish . . .

I am here!

We are trying to teach Bhu to say "I" instead of "me" when he is referring to himself. This is in preparation for Wordy Wednesday, March 16. Wish us luck! In the meantime, here's what's been happening around here since the last post.
More Teddy Bear quilts made from thread-saver units. This one is made from 1-1/2" squares I purchased back in 1970somethingorother -- samples of calicos you could buy (pre-internet).
I just finished quilting and binding this last night and it's one of my favorites! You can see my vintage Scripto mechanical pencil, which I have had since the 50's. There are a couple more of these small quilts, but no photos because Bhu always lays down on them. "These are for ME!" Well, no they're not, Mister Bigfurs. These are for Teddy Bears. "That's silly! Teddy Bears don't sleep! Their eyes never close!" Hmmmm, as usual, you have a point!
